Yulin _ Jiao, Yulin
My daughter, Yulin, was at Tongshan Welfare Institute from Dec 3, 1998 to June 15, 2000 when she was transferred to a larger orphanage in Wuhan. I adopted Yulin in October 2000 at age 23 months. Yulin's Chinese name was Jiao Yulin. I'm not sure if Yulin was in foster care, however, she is a bright happy girl who was obviously well cared for. I recently made a donation to the Tongshan orphanage through my agency, China Adoption with Love in Massachusetts. They gave me an address to send photos. Just copy the address and tape it on an envelope. I haven't tried this yet - I actually just received it yesterday. I was told that Yulin was transferred to the larger orphanage because Tongshan was not eligible for International Adoptions. I can't recall if this info came from someone in China or my agency, but I believe it came from my agency. It was probably a CCAA decision. My agency China Adoption with Love is run by Lillian Zhang, who is a Chinese National and a lawyer so I trust that she is able to get accurate info. I have another daughter, who is 9yr old also adopted from China from Jiangsu Province. We were lucky to have visited her orphanage. I'm so glad to have the pictures of the countryside and orphanage to show Yulin. |
